Yampa Integrated Water Management Plan
The Yampa Integrated Water Management Plan Committee is a group of 27 volunteers who represent a diverse range of interest groups including ranching operations, industry, environmental conservation organizations, local, state and federal government, water suppliers, fisheries, and recreation. In the face of a growing population, changing land uses and climate uncertainty, the IWMP Committee recognized numerous challenges and developed a list of characteristics of what a river in balance looks like to guide the committee’s recommendations for an uncertain future. The IWMP project sought to identify and spur projects and strategies that benefit water users, the river environment and recreational users.
I was tasked with designing the resort in a manner that conveyed the concept that rivers are intricate and a delicate network of dependents and benefactors and much like pieces of a puzzle that come together to form a picture, every element of the river plays a role in its general health and viability. I utlizied the IWMP Committee's existing branding to develop layouts, illustrations, and infographics that made the information within the report easily readible and understandable for the general public.
